Website Rescue & WordPress Maintenance in Sussex
Broken pages, slow loading or a website that has fallen behind your business? I help small businesses put things right, then keep their WordPress website looked after with one-off fixes or flexible monthly care.
Fix the website you have, with a clear plan
A broken contact form, an awkward mobile layout or out-of-date service information can make it harder for customers to choose you. You may have a specific fault or a list of jobs that nobody has had time to tackle.
I review what is happening, explain the options in plain English and agree the priorities, hours and budget before making changes. You work directly with me, Ciaran, from the first discussion through to checking the work.
Choose the support you need
One-off website rescue
A focused piece of work to investigate a fault, repair broken pages or clear a backlog. We agree the hourly rate and a time budget, starting with diagnosis if the cause is unclear.
No care plan required. You receive a summary of what changed, what was checked and any further work to consider.
Flexible monthly care
Ongoing WordPress maintenance and small improvements within an agreed monthly budget. At the beginning of each month, we plan the work around your business needs and available time.
No minimum term or notice period. You can pause, reduce or stop future work if your priorities or finances change.
What I can help put right
Broken pages, forms and mobile layouts
Investigate errors, broken links, missing images, enquiry forms that are not working and layouts that make a page difficult to use. We prioritise the pages and customer journeys your business depends on.
Slow websites and WordPress problems
Review loading delays, plugin conflicts, update failures and theme problems. Where performance needs a deeper review, we can scope WordPress speed optimisation and compare the affected pages before and after the work.
Outdated content and unfinished jobs
Update services, opening hours, team details, images and calls to action so the website reflects the business you run today. Content edits and improvements can be a one-off job or part of your monthly plan.
Updates, backups and routine checks
Monthly care can include WordPress, theme and plugin updates, backup and recovery checks, and checks on key pages and forms. We agree the frequency, responsibilities and checks for your particular website.
If there are signs of a compromise, such as unexpected redirects or spam pages in Google, start with WordPress hack recovery. An active security incident needs investigation before routine maintenance.
How website rescue works
- Understand the problem. Send your website address, what is going wrong and when it started. I confirm availability and what access is needed.
- Agree the priorities and budget. We define the initial work, hourly rate and time allowance. If the investigation reveals a bigger job, I explain it before going beyond that scope.
- Make and check the changes. We agree an appropriate backup or recovery point before changes. I test the affected pages and functions, using a separate test copy where appropriate.
- Hand over a clear record. You know what was fixed, what was checked and what still needs attention. Ongoing care is an option if it would be useful.
Hosting, domain renewals, paid licences and larger development jobs are identified separately. For monthly care, we also agree how to request help, response expectations and how completed work is reported.
Website rescue and maintenance questions
Can you help if someone else built my website?
Yes. I can review an existing website, its setup and the access available. My main focus is WordPress. Tell me which platform you use so I can confirm whether I can help before we agree work.
Do I need a new website?
Not necessarily. A focused repair or content update may be enough. If an unsupported setup or a major limitation makes a rebuild more sensible, I will explain why. Read whether to improve your website or replace it.
How much does it cost?
I charge hourly, with the rate, scope and time budget agreed before work begins. A smaller budget can start with one important problem. New features, redesigns and substantial compatibility work are scoped separately.
Is hosting the same as maintenance?
It depends on what your provider includes. We review the existing cover so a care plan addresses the gaps, with clear responsibility for backups, updates and support.
Can I still edit the site myself?
Yes. We agree which tasks you handle and where you want help. Guidance or practical training can be included in the agreed work.
How quickly can you help?
Tell me how the problem affects your business and any deadline. I confirm current availability and response expectations before we agree the work.
Am I tied into a care plan?
No. One-off work does not require a subscription. Ongoing support has no minimum term or notice period, and future work can be paused, reduced or stopped. I want you to stay because the work is useful.

WordPress recovery case studies
These projects show why security and recovery need a practical plan. Read the individual findings, work carried out and remaining actions.
If your site is already compromised, ask about WordPress hack recovery before treating it as routine maintenance.
Tell me what your website needs
Email your website address, a brief description of the problem and when it started. Include any error message, recent changes, deadline and the budget you have in mind. Screenshots can help, but please do not email passwords.
I will confirm availability and suggest a useful starting point, whether that is a one-off rescue or ongoing care.
