Working Together & FAQs
A clear starting point, an agreed plan and practical support shaped around your business.
Whether you need to solve a particular problem or work out your next move, we begin with what you want your business to achieve. These are the usual stages of working together; the details for your project are set out in the agreed brief.
A monthly plan that fits your business
At the beginning of each month, we agree a plan of work based on your business needs, budget and the time available. I charge hourly, and we agree the priorities and time to spend before work begins.
Those hours can cover SEO, PPC, social media or website work as needed. The mix can change from month to month as your priorities change.
No minimum contract term or notice period
I believe in earning your continued business by doing a good job. I also understand that businesses sometimes need a financial break. You can pause, reduce or stop future work at any time, without a notice period; just let me know. I am happy to adjust the support when your budget or circumstances change.
01 · Understand
Start with the situation
We discuss your customers, your offer, your existing website and marketing, and the problem you want to solve. You can bring a specific brief or simply explain where you need help.
02 · Prioritise
Agree the work
We identify the priorities and define what is included, who is responsible for what, the expected timetable and the costs. Any assumptions or third-party costs should be clear before approval.
03 · Deliver
Put the plan into action
The agreed work gets under way, with access, content and feedback arranged as needed. Changes to the brief are discussed so that their effect on scope, cost and timing is understood.
04 · Review
Understand what comes next
We review the completed work against the brief, discuss handover or training where relevant, and identify any sensible next steps. Ongoing support can be considered if it fits your needs.

- Training: support for you or your team, shaped around the skills you want to develop.
Frequently asked questions
What can you help with?
Business consultancy, SEO and local search, PPC, social advertising, website design, WordPress support, AI and digital marketing training. We can focus on one issue or agree a plan covering several services. Browse the services.
Do I need to know exactly what is wrong?
No. Explain what you want to achieve and what is causing difficulty. We can use that conversation to decide whether you need an initial review, a specific project or a wider plan.
Can you work with my existing website?
Yes, we can discuss improving what you already have. The starting point is its condition, the access available and your goals. A rebuild is one possible option, and any recommendation will depend on what the site needs.
How much will it cost?
I charge hourly. At the beginning of each month, we agree a plan based on your budget, business needs and the time available. We confirm the hourly rate, priorities and time to spend before work starts. Advertising spend, subscriptions and other third-party costs are identified separately, so you understand the overall cost before approving it.
How long will the work take?
The timetable depends on the brief, the condition of existing systems and the availability of content, access and feedback. We agree a realistic schedule for the work. Search visibility and advertising performance also depend on factors beyond a project’s delivery date.
Do you offer one-off projects and ongoing support?
Yes. A defined project may suit a website improvement, migration or training session. For ongoing support, we agree a plan at the beginning of each month. The work can cover SEO, PPC, social media or website tasks as needed, within the agreed budget and time. There is no minimum contract term or notice period.
Can I pause or reduce the work if my budget changes?
Yes. There is no minimum contract term or notice period. You can pause, reduce or stop future work at any time; just let me know. Businesses sometimes need a financial break, and I am happy to adjust the plan, priorities and hours to suit. Work already carried out remains covered by the agreed fees.
Is advertising spend included in your fee?
Management work and the money spent on advertising are separate items unless the proposal expressly says otherwise. We agree the advertising account arrangements, budget and approval process before campaigns run.
What will you need from me?
Usually your business priorities, information about your customers and offer, existing brand or website content, and feedback at agreed points. If account access is needed, we will agree an appropriate way to provide it. Please do not send passwords in an initial enquiry.
Who owns the website, accounts and finished work?
Ownership, licences, account control and handover arrangements should be recorded in the proposal or project agreement. Existing assets and third-party themes, plugins, software and images can have their own terms. We should clarify these details before the work begins.
Can you train me or my team?
Yes. Training can focus on the tools and tasks relevant to your business, including search, PPC, websites and practical digital marketing. Tell me what you already know and what you want to be able to do. Explore training.
Can you guarantee first place on Google or a number of leads?
No. Rankings, advertising results and enquiries depend on your offer, competition, budgets, platforms and many other factors. We can agree objectives and useful measures, and review progress against them, without promising an outcome that cannot be controlled.
My WordPress website has been hacked. Can you help?
I offer WordPress recovery and security support. Email with the website address and a brief description of the symptoms. Avoid sending passwords or customer data in the initial message. The next step is to agree access, investigation and the recovery work needed. Read about hacked-site recovery.
Where do you work?
First Search Digital focuses on helping local businesses across Sussex. Contact me with your location and the support you need so we can discuss suitable working arrangements.
What happens after I get in touch?
We discuss your situation and decide whether the work is a good fit. Where appropriate, the next step is an agreed brief or proposal covering priorities, scope, fees and responsibilities. An initial enquiry does not commit you to a project.
