Cookie Policy
A clear explanation of our website’s current cookie and tracking setup.
Last updated: 6 October 2026
We do not use Google Analytics, advertising cookies or remarketing trackers on this website. There are no current plans to introduce Google Analytics. The public site is designed for browsing information and contacting us by email.
What cookies are
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. They can support functions such as a secure login, or be used to measure visits and target advertising. Similar technologies can store information in other ways. Browser caching of page files and server access logs are different from advertising cookies.
Public visitors and administrator access
You do not need a visitor account to browse our public pages. We have not added optional analytics or marketing cookies to those pages.
The website runs on WordPress, which uses cookies when an authorised administrator visits the login screen or signs in. These support authentication, login checks and administrator preferences; they are not used to advertise to ordinary website visitors.
WordPress cookies associated with login and administration
- wordpress_test_cookie: checks whether the browser accepts cookies on the login screen; normally lasts for the browser session.
- wordpress_*, wordpress_sec_* and wordpress_logged_in_*: recognise an authenticated user and keep the login secure. Standard WordPress logins expire after two days or when the browser session ends; choosing “Remember Me” normally extends the login to 14 days. Cookie storage can include a short grace period.
- wp-settings-* and wp-settings-time-*: remember the administrator’s interface preferences; normally stored for up to one year.
- wp_lang: remembers a language selected on the login screen for the browser session.
These are standard WordPress names and default periods, rather than a claim that every cookie is set on every visit. The suffixes vary by installation or user, and login or security settings may change the duration.
Hosting, security and external images
SiteGround hosts the website. Hosting and security services may process technical request information to deliver pages, manage traffic and investigate problems. Some images load from finn-mccool.co.uk and themenectar.com, so those hosts receive the technical information needed to supply the files. These image requests are separate from a Google Analytics installation.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information, including enquiries and technical logs.
Your controls
You can inspect, block or delete cookies through your browser’s privacy settings. Blocking login cookies can prevent an administrator from signing in. A cookie consent banner is not used to seek agreement to analytics or advertising because we have not installed those features.
If we introduce features that use optional cookies or similar technologies, we will update this policy and provide the information and consent controls required before those features operate.
Other websites
If you follow an external link, the destination website manages its own cookies and privacy settings. Our policy does not control those separate websites.
